We enjoy longstanding relationships with our textile dealers in India and a partnership with a manufacturer and textile processing house in Jaipur where we wash, dye and soften our quilts and coverlets.
Aloka quilts are refreshed vintage pieces (typically 60-80 years old) that we've hand selected for their unusual beauty and material integrity. Sometimes over-dyed in our custom botanical cues, we select each quilt over hours spent on zoom. Some are like weighted blankets, Others are more delicate, quilts have a range of 4-8 layers, each size is listed on the product page.
Aloka Coverlets are our version of oversized, luxury throws, coming in at around 60" x 90". Typically 2 layers of saris, they differ from our quilt collection in weight and thickness. Still vintage, each one is over-dyed in our custom hues, with the hand stitched softness you've come to expect from Aloka.
Aloka Coverlet Bedspreads are designed and made-to-order in our Athens, GA workroom using select pieces of our exclusive stonewashed vintage coverlets. Each one requires 3-4 coverlets to make, and are customizable in King and Queen sizes, and in colorway.
